What Moto Secure Can Do
Setting Up Secure Folder
Disguise or Hide the Folder
Once Secure Folder is set up, tap the three-dot menu inside the folder and go to Settings.
Change Icon & Name (Disguise)
Settings → Disguised icons → Toggle ON → Choose a fake icon (calculator, notes, etc.) → Set a fake name. Anyone who sees your home screen will see a regular-looking app, not a security folder.
Stealth Mode (Completely Invisible)
Settings → Stealth mode → Toggle ON. The folder disappears from your home screen entirely. To access it again: open Moto Secure app or go back through Settings → Security & privacy.
Advanced 2-Step Verification (Best Feature)
This is the most underrated security feature on any Android phone. Here's how it works:
When you're at home or on trusted WiFi/Bluetooth: opening the Secure Folder only requires your fingerprint or face — fast and convenient.
When you're in public, at work, or on an unknown network: it automatically requires both your biometric AND your screen lock PIN/password. No configuration needed — it detects the context automatically.
This means even if someone forces you to unlock your phone with your fingerprint in public, they'd still need your PIN to open Secure Folder.
Managing Notifications
Apps inside Secure Folder can have their notifications controlled separately. Tap the folder → Settings → Notifications, and choose: show nothing, show icon only (no content), or show full notification. Recommended: icon only, so you know something arrived without revealing who messaged you on the lock screen.
Forgot Your Secure Folder Lock?
Settings → Security & privacy → More security & privacy → Secure folder → Delete secure folder. This resets the folder and removes all apps inside it. You can set it up fresh afterward — but any app data stored exclusively inside the folder is lost. This is why keeping your folder PIN written down somewhere safe is important.
Is Moto Secure available on my phone?
Moto Secure is available on Motorola phones running Android 11 and above. If you don't see it in Settings, your phone may need a software update, or it may be an older model that doesn't support it.
